Henry Mead (b. c1735), son of Elnathan, grandson of Samuel, great grandson of John, and second great grandson of William, said to have been born in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut Colony.
Asserted to have married firstly Mary Wood (d. c1775) and secondly Elisabeth Denton (b. c1745) on Sept. 10, 1775.
Said to have been the keeper of a tavern in 1759 where a press-gang collected several young men to press them into military service as "volunteers" in the company commanded by Capt. Thomas Hobby (The French & Indian War Rosters for Greenwich compiled by Spencer P. Mead, L.L.B.).
Possibly the Henry Mead who administered Abram's Will.
Children with Mary asserted to be:
- 1. Henry Mead (b. c1772)
- 2. Charlotte Mead (Apr. 1, 1774 - 1870) born and died in Greenwich.
Children with Elisabeth asserted to be:
- 1. Artemas Mead (b. Oct. 29, 1776) who married Sarah Williams (b. c1778) on Dec. 24, 1808.
- 2. Martha Mead (b. c1778)
- 3. Lavinia Mead (b. c1785)
- 4. Priscilla Mead (c1787 - Jan. 1, 1862) who married Munson Hinman (b. c1785)
