Henry was born in 1678. He was the son of Henry Meese and Ann Pert. He was baptized at St. Katherine Creechurch in London. His father was a London Merchant Draper who imported tobacco from Virginia and exported cloth and items of daily living. Henry Sr. died in 1682.

Henry jr. took up the same occupation of merchant. Unfortunately he died in 1720 at a very young age. He left his estate to his sister Ann Meese. She was to give his mother ten pounds for mourning.[1] [2]

Notes on Henry Meese Sr - father of Henry Meese Jr

1st wife Mary Ann Wahanganoche - John (1st) Ann (1st) - these children were all grown at the time of Henry's will

2nd wife Anne Pert - the children named in Henry Meese’s will were all very young infants of his last wife, Ann Pert. Henry, John (2nd), Anne (2nd) and Francis

It was a frequent practice in those days to have more than one child by the same name due to the desires of different wives. Ann (Pert) Meese certainly wanted to name a daughter after herself, even though Henry apparently had one by that name already. T'he older John was apparently a child of Henry’s union with a daughter of Chief Wahanganoche, as was Ann, the wife of Dr. Richard Bryant.'

Since Henry’s half-Indian children were not mentioned in his will, it was probably due to each of them having reached adulthood, married, and having already been provided for by their father. It was a frequent practice for a father to refrain from naming married daughters in his will or to not mention children for whom he had already provided.”
