About Henry Oldfield
Spouse #2 of Elizabeth Morris
Per Estelle Havis, Odessa, TX, e-mail of 25 Feb 2004: "Our immigrant ancestor, Henry Oldfield, was transported to the Colony of Maryland 21 Dec 1671 by John Pawson, merchant . . . then sold to Robert Bullen for 7 years service. When the time came for his freedom, however, (5 Feb 1678) he was refused by William Moore, son-in-law of Robert Bullen, until Henry had proved his age. Henry had to go to court to prove his age and did so by obtaining his birth record from London - nine months after the 5 Feb 1678 date he should have been freed. He was paid for the extra nine months by William Moore. His birth record showed him having been born and baptized 1 Feb 1656. After his freedom, he married Mrs. Elizabeth (Morris) Russum, daughter of John Morris and Mrs Eleanor Empson, a widow. By the way, John Morris is another of our immigrants."
