About Henry Skidmore, II

He was orphaned at age 6 and made his home with Richard Williams, Sen., a kinsman. He sold "Farmers Delight", which had been surveyed 10 March 1687 for his father. There are other deeds recorded for him in Sussex County, Delaware. On 12 April 1737 he bought 75 acres from Daniel Harrison near Lewes on Broad Creek and Round Pole Branch on the King's Road. The deed described him as a "yeoman".

"His will dated March 19, 1759 mentions his sons Thomas, Henry and Elijah Skidmore, his daughter Sarah Pettyjohn and her children, his wife Elizabeth, and his grandchildren by his son Thomas (who was also named executor).
