Henry Chickley Thacker

Henry Thacker, Sr. was born: Abt 1632, Lancashire, England. He died AFT 4 January 1672 in Middlesex County, Virginia. He married Eltonhead Conway (1646-1689) daughter of Edwin Conway, Sr. and Martha Eltonhead.

There are three immigration entries for Henry Thacker and one was transported by Capt. Augustine Warner in 1652 and Payankatanke River was mentioned.

Henry Thacker, Sr. was Clerk of the Virginia Council, High Sheriff of Middlesex County, and a Member of the
Virginia House of Burgesses in 1672.

Children: Martha, Henry, Edwin, Lettice, Alice and Chickeley Corbin.

7 Dec 1673: Administration is grannted MRS. ELTONHEAD THACKER of her Husband Mr. HENRY THACKERs Estate upon her peticon & Mr. ALEXANDER SMITH, Mr. WILLIAM GORDEN, Mr. ROBERT PRICE & GEORGE GOODLOE are ordered to meets att the howse of the said Mr. THACKER on Fryday the Eleaventh day of December instant & after being sworne by Major JOHN BURNHAM to inventory & appraise the Estate of the said Mr. HENRY THACKER & the Clerke of this Court to be there to take the Inventory & Sr. HENRY CHICHELEY hath this day affirmed to bee her Security to save the Court harmless & for her due Administracon & to give bond ye next Court for ye same

In 1685-'86 his son, Henry Thacker, in behalf of himself and his brothers and sisters, Edwin, Chichley Corbin, Martha, Lettice, and Alice, sued Mr. William Stanard, who had married the widow Eltonhead, and had the estate of their deceased father in his hands, and had left the county.
