Henry Thomas Pittman

General Notes: H.T. was young when they moved to Garland county. He studied

medicine under Dr. McClendon and lived on his place for a while, working for the

opportunity to study under him and read his collection of medical books. He later

studied under Dr. D. M. Wilson at Wiggs, and in 1880 took his State exam in Little

Rock, passing among the highest in his class. He bacame a general practitioner,

administering to a large portion of western Garland County, with offices at Wiggs,

as well as at May, Arkansas in Antioch Twp., south of the Ouachita River. He

charged $5.00 for delivering a baby.
