A Henry Woodhouse, the son of John and Jane Woodhouse, was christened on 21 Apr 1622 at St Dunstan and All Saints, Stepney, Middlesex, England.[3]

Henry married twice. He had at least the following children born between 1650 and 1662:[4]

  2. Mary, b. 7 Sept 1653[5]; m. Joseph Lee
  3. Hannah, b. 11 March 1656[5]; m. -- Cheney
  4. Millicent, b. 4 April 1660[5]; m. Joseph Estabrook 31 Dec 1689; d. 20 March 1692-3
  5. Sarah, m. John Dakin
  6. Elizabeth, m. Simon Davis 14 Feb 1688-89[5]
  7. First Henry Woodis married Eleanor/Ellen Hopkinson by 1651 at Concord .

"WOODIS, Henry (-1700) & 1/wf Eleanor/Ellen [HOPKINSON] (-1693); by 1651; Concord {Davis (,5) 38; Dakin Gen. 12}"[6] Henry Wooddis is mentioned in the Inventory to the estate of Thomas Flint of Concord as owing a debt to the estate.[7]

In 1671, Henry Woodis was made quartermaster of the military company at Concordm, and he became cornet two years later.[8]

Henry's second wife was Sarah Wade, the widow of Samuel Rogers. They were married on 29 June 1694 at Concord.[5]

According to the Concord Vital Records, "mr Henry Woodis ye husband of Sarah his wife dyed June ye 16th 1700.[5] A document in his probate file confirms that Henry died on 16 June 1700.[9]

Henry made his Will on 30 March 1700. In his Will, Henry mentioned:[10]

The following is my best transcription of the Will, but there mat be errors. I did add some paragraphing for ease of reading.Watt-266 19:42, 8 May 2016 (EDT)

  • I Henry Woodis or Woodhouse of Concord being Aged Expecting my Great Change not to be far of, determine to make my last will, begging of ye great & Best God to increase of all Grace in my soul whilst I remain in this world, and yet he will be pleased to pardon my many sins and infirmities and cover them, with his Indulgent grace by he Blessed Lord Jesus Christ whom I love though not so much as I ought, yet I hope nothing is loved so much as that Eternall king And first I bequeath my soul to all mightly God, and my Body to ye Grave untill he Joyfull day of he Resurection
  • As to my personall Estate or movable estate I despose as followeth, to my wife she having chossen in lieu of her third in my Estate, only her third in ye orchard, beside the benefitt of housing wch. is mensioned in ye Articles between son Lee & my selfe, saving this that shee is to have what she brought with her, saving ten pounds payd out same towards Building, wch. is done allredy by me, all other things are encluded in the Articles twixt son Lee & mee,
  • To my son Lee my long cote, with my wearing clothes, with ten shillings in mony to each of my daughter Marys children. I will to my daughter Hanah one halfe ye monys in her husbands had Except two pound ten shillings given to daughter Mary & children, or shall be expended on - on funeral charges, All wch to be taken out to ye wholl sum, as also one third part in my personal estate I give also unto my daughter Hanah & her children.
  • I will to my grandson Joseph Estabrook twenty pound in ye had of son Lee to be payd in on year arfter my death. Also twenty pound out of ye fifth part of ye farm given to daughter Sary Dakin, & her children paying at four payments that is in fourteenth fifteenth sixteenth & seventeenth years of his Age in mony or for want of paymnt, sd Joseph to have one halfe ye eight acres of meadow in the west end of ye south meadow, five pounds each year for seven years as also I give to sd. Joseph one Quarter of ye mony in had, or in bill, as also one third part of my personall estate.
  • I will to my daughter Sarah & her children a fifth part of ye farme reserved, paying to Joseph Estabrook as above twenty pounds & to my wife two pounds ten shillings yearly, during her life upon ye land given, in pay [???] from man to man wch with seven pound ten shilling from son Lee maker ten pound the sum agreed upon before marriage.
  • The fifth part we account not less then seventy Acres lying in four places not joined together, ye greatest part is bounded at ye north Dudley west, east at ablackook[???] marked it being there thirty two, or thirty three rods in breadth as a like distance from the outside fence, marked at a like distance by trees & stakes, to ye west end to ye old field, & old orchard old orchard & ye fence being part of this fifth part in wch old orchardis, with seven acres of woodland, lying among ye swampes, being twenty rods wide & fifty s rods long this seven acres being included or encumpassed wch Joseph Lees land sd fifth part to have ye wood forever without claim of sd Lee or his successors, but not any other improvemnt but away, to it forever, four or five acres where Jno. Dakins house stands on part Bounded on Joseph Lees goodman Brust ye River & way, with eight acres of meadow in ye west end of ye south meadow, bounded by ditches river & stones est & west. Sd. Dakin to have sd land for ye benefitt of himselfe & wife children but not to sell land or wood.
  • I give my daughter Davis my bigest brass kettle with one quarter of the mony in hand or in bill having had twenty pound allredy and also to have one third part in my personall estate.
