Herbert Hart St. John Browne

Herbert Hart St. John (Don) BROWNE was born on 24 Jun 1894 at 'Havreklip', Delmas District, Transvaal, South Africa. He died on 30 Jun 1970 in Potchefstroom, Transvaal, South Africa. He is reference number 353. According to the Will of WilliamWilly' Hart Browne, dated the 2nd March 1950 Hart St. John 'Don' Browne was excluded from his will. There was no explanation for the exclusion.

This was explained when we received the information from the file of Hylton

Oliver...he was no longer competent after the trauma suffered during World War 1.

Guy Chester Browne signed a legal document confirming that Don was his brother

named Hart St. John Browne.

A note from Hylton Oliver in September 2005 said that 'Don' was cut out of the will

as he was in a mental asylum (Sterkfontein) as a result of experiences suffered during

World War 1. In some records his first name is given as Herbert.
