Herbert Eugene Nicholls, age 74, of Stone Mountain, GA., died Friday, May 28, 2004. The funeral will be Thursday, June 3, 2004, at 2 p.m. in the Harmony Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Long and Rev. Lisa Dempsey officiating. Interment Arlington Memorial Park.

A native of Atlanta, he was a retired computer Systems Manager, a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and served in Japan. He graduated from Boys High School in 1948, from Emory University in 1957 where he received a BBA Degree and from Georgia State College in 1961 where he received a MBA Degree.

He was predeceased by his mother, Lucille "Miss Lucy" Nicholls, who owned a shoe store in Brookhaven for many years. Survived by his wife, Harriett Dodd Nicholls, Stone Mountain, GA; son, James Nicholls, Stone Mountain, GA; daughter and son in law, Amanda and Brian Bandy, Lilburn, GA; son and daughter in law, Matthew and Sarah Nicholls, Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Lauren, Emily and Gabriel Bandy, sister, Miriam Robertson, Decatur, GA; niece, Carol Beam. Contributions may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. 770-564-2726.
