Hershel Thacker, age 75, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Hospice of Blue Ash, located in Cincinnati, OH.
He was born April 7, 1942, in Beattyville, KY, a son to the late Rufus and Bertie (Newton) Thacker. He was a cabinet maker for over 50 years. In his free time, he enjoyed music, playing corn hole and pool, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by 1 son; Terry (Melissa) Thacker of Cincinnati, OH, 2 daughters; Lisa (Rene) Cervantes and Melissa Ealy both of Cincinnati, OH, 4 sisters; Lucy (James) Barrett, Helen (Ray) Morris, Leona (Tucker) Thacker, and Mable (Bill) Kramp all of Beattyville, KY, 3 brothers; Rufus Thacker Jr of Winchester, KY, Allen (Wanda) Thacker of Beattyville, KY, and Kenneth (Madonna) Thacker of Indiana, 7 grandchildren; Brian Sears, Christina Hull, Amanda Thacker, Josh Thacker, Cassandra Cervantes, Jacob Thacker, and Alex Cervantes, 3 great-grandchildren; Madison Diehn, Rylie Sears, and Jaxson Roberts, and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Norma Jean Thacker, 1 grandson; Timmy Hull, 2 brothers; Vernon Thacker and Glen Thacker, 2 sisters; Ila Estes and Geraldine Thacker.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Ellis Kendall officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in the Willard Johnson Cemetery, located in Beattyville, KY.
