From the Katzenfurt Register of Jewish children born 1847-1874: On January 11, 1860, the wife of the merchant Joseph Levi, Miriam born. Herz von Katzenfurt gave birth to a son at 5 a.m. who received the first name Herz. ___________________________________________________________________________________
The seventy-seven-year-old Herz Levi, who was living in Josbach with his daughter, Rosalia Steinfeld, had already returned to his birthplace, Katzenfurt or Ehringshausen (Wetzlar district), on 8 September 1938, one week before the emigration of his daughter Rosalie and her family from Germany. His stay in Katzenfurt/Ehringshausen was likely brief as he is not noted in records for this time. He went to Frankfurt at some point and died there in 1940.
