Esther Hilliard was the daughter of William Hilliard & was born [sic: recorded] in Boston on the 25th of March, 1642, where her name is stated as Hester[1] She was baptized on 25 Jun 1655 by Peter Hobart of Hingham.[2]
Esther married at Hingham on the 9th of January, 1657/8 to Joseph Bate.[3] They had 9 children recorded variously in Hingham Town records & Hubbard's Journal. In all the primary source records for her children, where she is named, she is Hester.
