Hew Kennedy, Master of Cassillis was born posthumously in 1576/77. He was the son of Gilbert Kennedy, 4th Earl of Cassillis and Margaret Lyon.1 A contract for the marriage of Hew Kennedy, Master of Cassillis and Katherine Macdowall was signed on 2 September 1600.2 He died before 25 March 1607.1

He was styled as Master of Cassillis.1
