About Hidena Shultz
GEDCOM Note
Dena evidently was named after grandmother Dena Feldman.
Concerning the name "Hidena" by which she was commonly known:
According to Manny's oral history, the prefix (~"Chai", for life) added at a synagogue ceremony to bring health when Dena, age one month, became seriously ill.
She was identified as Chaja Deene in a Card of Sympathy published by The Jewish News on 2 Jun 1944 at Page Eleven.
Although that name was transliterated to "Hidena" and thus used during the rest of her life, it appears that there was no official change of name registered with any governmental entity.
