Married announcement on Finnish newspapers on 21.4.1897. Married 28.04.1897 with Nikolai Meder at Lappeenranta orthodox church. Moved from st. Petersburg to Sweden 1910. Divorced 9th March 1911. Nikolai and Hilda lived separately from 15th June 1904 onwards. Nikolai was ruled to pay alimony to Hilda in the finnish court 1913 with some of 4850 finnish marks with 5% annual interest: https://digi.kansalliskirjasto.fi/sanomalehti/binding/1175442?term=...

In the newspapers they said that Nikolai filed for divorce with Orthodox church 1906 and actually got it. But as Nikolai had just before turned to Lutheran his divorce was not seen legal and he needed to file it again with "tuomikapituli" meaning lutheran church.

So basically the Russian church looked him as a divorced man and gave him a licence to marry Katherina, but in the eyes of Finnish Lutheran church he was married to Hilda. Nikolai's marriage to Katharine could therefore never be legalized in Finland.

Nikolais marriages were reported in the newspapers like this: Difficulties in marriage goal. In August 1897, a young Swede, Miss Judith Nilsson, married the then polytechnic in Helsinki N. Meder, who at that time was Greek Orthodox to his confession, why the wedding was last taken (in Willmanstrand) after both Ryck Orthodox and Finnish Lutheran ritual. When the young couple, after a few years of cohabitation, no longer met on the man's side, the man demanded a divorce and promised to pay the necessary maintenance, which later, however, was completely absent. Mrs Judith Nilsson-Meder moved to Sweden, where she is still unable to obtain Swedish citizenship. because she is married to a Finnish official, for the same reason she can not remarry. The matter turned out to be happier for the young husband. Mr. N. Meder sought divorce from his Swedish wife at the Holy Synod and won his intention, and as early as 1906 on May 13, he married a Russian singer, Miss Katarina Jakenin. Mrs. Jakenin - Meder was orthodox, and the marriage was entered into after Russian church ritual. The unfortunate thing, however, is that Mr. N, Meder shortly before switched to Lutheran doctrine. It was not until 1908, when Mr Meder was already a husband and father of children, that he joined the Senate with a request for a divorce from his Swedish wife. The case has dragged on for two years, so that a rash in this difficult marriage affair today that has not been able to take place. And in fact, it will not be easy to find out. Mr. Meder himself considers himself married to Judit Nilsson — if he did not do so, he would not have filed for divorce. At least in Finland he is married to this woman, until the liberating decision falls on the highest court. As he was married at the conclusion of the new marriage only enlight Russian ritual, Mrs. Katarina Jakenin-Meder is not married and the children born in the marriage are not entitled to inherit Finnish law. What a tangle for gentlemen lawyers, what a motive for an operetta composer.

In swedish: Vansklighster i gifter- mål.
