She was the daughter of Colonel John St. Vincent Saumarez, 3rd Baron de Saumarez and Caroline Esther Rhodes.
She married George Ives Irby, 4th Baron Boston, son of George Irby, 3rd Baron Boston and Rachel Ives Drake, on 20 July 1861 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.,
She married George Ives Irby, 4th Baron Boston, son of George Irby, 3rd Baron Boston and Rachel Ives Drake, on 30 July 1861.1 She died on 20 December 1922 at age 83.
Hon. Caroline Amelia Saumarez usually went by her middle name of Amelia.4 From 20 July 1861, her married name became Irby.
