Lord God Everlasting Now Know yee that I the said ADAM WOFENDALE have for the valluable consideration of three thousand pounds of tobacco and casque in hand received given sold and confirmed unto THOMAS GRIMSLEY of the said County his heirs or assigns forever Two hundred acres of land being part of a Pattent of One thousand and fiftie acres of land taken up between WILLIAM BALTROP and JAMES GREEN and FRANCIS LEWIS scituate lying and being in the FOREST on the North side of RAPPA RIVER and in the Freshes thereof beginning at a white Oak standing neare the runne of the great swamp runing on the back side of my now dwelling house and up the said Swamp for length and towards HENRY BERRYs for breadth to have and to hold all & every parte and parcell of said Two hundred acres of land to him his heirs and assigns forever wthout any the lett or eviction of me the said ADAM WOFENDALE or of any persons whatsoever and I doe further for myselfe my heirs agree with the said THOMAS GRIMSLEY his heirs and assigns that I will warrant to them the said land and alsoe will save harmless and also defend them in the premises against the claime of any persons wtsoever and will acknowledge and cause my Wife to acknowledge the sale of the said Land in the County Court of Rappa upon reasonable request at my own proper Charge that it may be there recorded according to usuall forme and that I will upon request make further assurance to them of the said land as they or any of them learned in the Law shall advise he or they being at the charge thereof and will doe all things necessary for the further assurance of the said land to him his heirs or assigns unto the true performance of all the fore recited prmises I doe hereby bind myselfe my heirs. The Condicon of this obligation is the above bound ADAM WOFFENDALL his heirs shall at all times hereafter secure the abovesaid WM. MARSHALL in a quiets and peacable possession and enjoyment of a parcell of land bought of sd ADAM WOFFENDALL and save harmless and indemnified then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force

Now know yee that I the said ADAM WOFFENDALL have for a valuable consideration of Five thousand pounds of tobbo: and casks in hand received granted unto JOHN GRIMSLY of the said County his heires or assignes forever One hundred acres of Land more or less being part of a Patent of Four hundred and eighty acres of Land taken up by ADAM WOFFENDELL scituate and being in the FOREST on ye North side of Rappahannock River and in the Freshes thereof, begining att a white Oake standing nears the Run betweene my House and THO: GRIMSLEY, thence along a line of marked trees along a Branch that parts LUCAS and the said Land of WOFFENDELL to a marked white Oake standing upon a great Swamp alt the mouth of the Branch, thence down. the Swamp to another white Oake corner tree upon the sd Swamp thence along a line under the Hills to another corner white Oak standing by the mouth of a small branch on the backside of my owns Plantation, thence along a line up the said Branch to the aforementioned beginning tree; To have and to hold all and every part of the said hundred acres to him his heires or assignes forever without any molestation of me the said ADAM WOFFENDELL or of any persons whatsoever, And I do hereby for my selfe my heires agree that 1 will warrant to them the said Land and also will save harmless and indemnified and also defend them in the pr:misses against the clayme of any persons whatsoever and will acknowledge and have my Wife to acknowledge the sale of the said Land in the County Court of Richmond upon a reasonable request of my owne proper charge that it may be then recorded according to usual forme and that I will from time to time upon request make further assurance to them of the said Land as they or any of them learned in the Law shall advise, they being att the charge thereof and will do all things necessary for the further assurance of the said Land to him his heires or assignes for ever unto the aforementioned pr:misses, I do hereby bind my selfe my heires in Wittness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand this Eight and Twentieth day of September 1702
