About Hudson B Brasher
Hudson B. Brasher was the son of Thomas J. Brasher and Catherine Armstrong Brasher. Hudson came to Livingston County, Kentucky with his family when he was around age 7. He later moved to Crittenden County, Kentucky. There Hudson met his first wife, Annis Pettypool. They were married June 21, 1832 in Livingston County, Kentucky. The Pettypool name is often spelled Pool or P'Pool. They had the following children, Henry W., Margaret Catherine, Josephine Ann, and Hulda Jane. His first wife, Annis died April 2, 1845. He married Nancy M. Wyatt April 22, 1847 in Crittenden County, Kentucky. They had the following children: William Alexander, Andrew Jackson, Johnson Kirk, Miles Evans, Mary Annelle, James H. and John Rubin. Sometime after October 1856, Hudson and Nancy, along with 10 other families who had ties to the Brasher family left Crittenden County, Kentucky for Missouri probably by ox cart. Some of the Brashers who came to Missouri with Hudson later returned to Kentucky.
Hudson served as a Union soldier in the Civil War with the 74th Missouri Militia.
