  • Notes: Sir Thomas de Dutton with his brother John and eldest son Peter Dutton killed at the battle of Blore-Heath in Cheshire Sunday, 23 Sep 1459, during the War of the Roses. In 1527, at the death of Laurence Dutton of Dutton without a male heir, Dutton property passed to Sir Piers Dutton of Hatton whose right contested by heirs-general of Sir Hugh Dutton. In 1534, Termination of the Dutton lawsuit by awary of Henry VIII (May 16) by which Sir Piers Dutton of Hatton became owner of Dutton, confirmed by Act of Parliament in 1536.

The Dones were of Utkinton, as early as the twelfth century; a younger son of Henry Done, who acquired the office of bow-bearer of the forest of Delamere, by marriage with the co-heiress of Kingsley, about the reign of King John, or the beginning of that of Henry III. ", settled at Crowton, which branch became extinct in the male line in the year 1508; the heiress married Birkenhead. John Done of Utkinton, in or about the reign of Henry VI., had three sons; the second son settled at Flaxyards, the younger son at Oulton, the latter died without male issue in 1498, leaving an only daughter who brought Oulton in marriage to the Egertons ...
