Hugh Fortescue, 3rd Earl Fortescue (4 April 1818 – 10 October 1905), known as Viscount Ebrington from 1841 to 1861, was a British peer and occasional politician.
He entered the House of Commons in 1841 as a member for Plymouth. He lost this seat in 1852, but returned in 1854 for Marylebone, which seat he held until 1859, when he was called up to the House of Lords by a writ of acceleration. He succeeded to his father's earldom two years later.
He married Georgiana Dawson-Damer, granddaughter of John Dawson, 1st Earl of Portarlington, on 1 March 1847. They had ten children:
Lady Mary Eleanor Fortescue (b 1849, d 12 October 1938), married George Bridgeman.
Lady Lucy Catherine Fortescue (b 1851, d 19 March 1940), married Michael Hicks-Beach, 1st Earl St Aldwyn and had issue.
Lady Georgiana Seymour Fortescue (b 1852, d 24 December 1915), married her cousin, Lord Ernest Seymour, son of Francis Seymour, 5th Marquess of Hertford and had issue.

Hugh Fortescue, 3rd Earl Fortescue was born on 4 April 1818.2 He was the son of Hugh Fortescue, 2nd Earl Fortescue and Lady Susan Ryder.1 He married Georgiana Augusta Charlotte Caroline Dawson-Damer, daughter of Colonel Rt. Hon. George Lionel Dawson-Damer and Mary Georgiana Emma Seymour, on 11 March 1847.2 He died on 10 October 1905 at age 87.2
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Plymouth between 1841 and 1852.2 He held the office of Lord of the Treasury between 1846 and 1847.2 He held the office of Secretary of the Poor Law Board between 1847 and 1851.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Marylebone between 1854 and 1859.2 He succeeded to the title of 5th Baron Fortescue of Castle Hill, co. Devon [G.B., 1746] on 5 December 1859, in his father's lifetme.2 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Earl Fortescue [G.B., 1789] on 14 September 1861.2 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Viscount Ebrington, co. Gloucester [G.B., 1789] on 14 September 1861.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for South Molton.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Devon.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography
