1067 - † 1070 : Hugues I st of Campdavaine whose existence is uncertain. It is only cited by Lambert d'Ardres [ 2 ] . Nicknamed Candavène, Candens avena , by some and Champ-d'Avène, Campus avenae , by others. He married Clémence in 1060, by whom he had three sons: Guy, who follows, Hugues and Eustache. Clémence would have remarried with Arnoul d'Ardres, who would have ensured the regency in the names of the minor sons of his wife. According to some, Clémence could be the daughter of Roger or his son Manassès. Hugues would then be, not Roger's son but a descendant of the Ponthieu family, as the quasi symmetry of the first names used in the two families may suggest [ 3 ] . The25 November 1078Pope Gregory VII gave the three son of Hugh I st of Campdavaine Guy, Hugh and Eustace, the title of "Counts of Saint-Pol." .......... Hugues I st of Campdavaine (died 1070) nicknamed Campdavaine , Candavène , Candens oats , field-d'Avène or Campus avenae , son of Roger de Saint-Pol [ 1 ] . In 1067, he succeeded his father as Count of Saint-Pol .
