Humphrey Bradburne, was the son and heir of John Bradburne of Hoghe and Anne (Vernon) Bradburne.[1][2][3] Based on his father's estimated date of birth sometime in 1415-1425,[4] Humphrey was probably born sometime in 1432-1455. Since his parents lived in the manor at Hoghe (also called Hough and Hoo, now known as Hulland) in Derbyshire, Humphrey was presumably born there.
Humphrey married Margaret Longford, daughter of Sir Nicholas Longford.[1][5][2] (Margaret is wrongly described as the daughter of Sir Ralph Longford, the elder, in the Derbyshire Visitations pedigree of Bradburne.)[3] Based on Margaret's estimated date of birth (1436-1464) and the fact that they are mentioned in a 1480 indenture as already married,[1] they were probably married sometime in 1450-1480.
Humphrey and Margaret had the following children (and perhaps others):
Humphrey made his will in 1519 (see below).
Since Humphrey's will references his wife, Jane, sometime before 1519 Humphrey's first wife, Margaret, must have died and Humphrey must have subsequently married a woman named Jane. No source has been found that establishes her last name.
Humphrey probably died sometime in 1519-1522.[7][8]
