About Hyam Plutzik
Hyam Plutzik was an American poet. He was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and a professor of English at the University of Rochester.
In addition to five books published in his lifetime, Plutzik also published poems in the New York Times Sunday Book Review, Sewanee Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, Poetry-New York, Hopkins Review, Epoch, Furioso, Prairie Schooner, the Yale Review, American Scholar, Antioch Review, New World Writing, The Nation, Saturday Review, Voices, Transatlantic Review, the Christian Science Monitor, and the Kenyon Review.
His awards included a National Institute of Arts and Letters Award, a Ford Foundation Faculty Fellowship, a Poetry Awards Prize (later known as the Borestone Mountain Poetry Award), and two J.S. Cook Awards from Yale University.
