About Hyman Heinrich Haber
Heinrich left his home for Vienna, partly because his father was hard to take. He worked in Vienna as a shochet, but then became a photographer (he had a cousin in the photography business). He would travel around to small towns in western Hungary to photograph the villagers on their special occasions, return to Vienna to print the photos, then return to the villages to distribute them. When he married Natalie, they moved to a town in Hungary called Szombathely, a short distance (six miles?) from the Austrian border. There Heinrich had a photo studio. His photos and portraits of people in Szombathely are still found in their homes and on the Internet!
