Hyrum Jenson

Hyrum was born the second son to Gustaf Jonsson (1834-1903) and Mary Anderson (1839-1930). His parents divorced shortly after his birth and Mary married Christian Hansen Jensen in 1868. Christian Jensen raised Hyrum and his older brother, William Andrew, along with six half-siblings.
Family lore has it that Hyrum took his step-father's name and then later changed Jensen to Jenson to honor his birth father's name, combining the two names.
Hyrum married Mary Diantha Stewart on September 11, 1889. They became the parents of one child, Grace Stewart Jensen. Mary died in 1893 and Grace died in 1897.
Hyrum married Mary Edna Sparks on April 24, 1901 Salt Lake City, Utah. They became the parents of three children: Hyrum Eugene, Joy, and Edna Marie. Edna died in 1910 at the age of two. The other two children lived to adulthood.
