Ian Malcolm Snyman (1950 - 2004)

Ian (53), owner of the Kob Inn on the Wild Coast, was found by an employee, with a gunshot wound to the back, in his dining room at his home close to his hotel around 03:00 on Sunday 29th February 2004.

According to police, he was shot after three intruders gained entrance to his home through an open door.

Sergeant Namhla Mdleleni said a hotel employee was alerted to something amiss by the continual barking of Snyman's dogs. "When he went to investigate he was confronted by a gunman who pushed him to the ground before fleeing." Three suspects were arrested at Willowvale on Monday.

Three suspects, aged between 25 and 38, from Port Elizabeth, were arrested in Willowvale, by members of the Queenstown serious violent crime unit and Willowvale following a tip-off.
