After the death of their father, he and his brother were driven out of their lands by their uncle, Hywel Dda. After Hywel's death in 950, the brothers were able to defeat their cousins and take their lands back, but the brothers then quarreled; Iago took Ieuaf prisoner in 969; he died in captivity in 988.
