Ignacio Aragon came to New Mexico after 1693 with his wife and children from his first marriage. He was recruited from Mexico City as part of the Velesco-Farfan colony and came to New Mexico by volunteering for recruitment under "The Conde de Galve Directory" in Mexico City, dated September 4, 1693. He was 31 at the time of enlistment and was listed in the "Distribution of Livestock and Supplies" on May 1st 1697 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His trade was that of a weaver, as was his father before him.
