About Ignatz Izsák Ehrenfeld, Ha-levi

DO NOT MERGE! There were 2 groups in Nyirvasvari and Hajdudorog, both named Ehrenfeld. One is Levi and the other is Yisroel so they are not blood relatives. Please keep them separate unless we find absolute information to confirm connection. E.S.

According to the record in A Karcagi Zsidók Története (Jerusalem, 1977), he was the first member of the Ehrenfeld family to settle in Karcag. His birthplace is listed as Hajdúdörög. He moved to Karcag in 1860 and lived on Madarasi Ut. where he also had a business selling flour and other milled grains. He was an excellent Talmudist, who also gave his children a Jeshiva upbringing, sending them abroad for that. He died in Karcag in 1889 and is buried in the first row at the Jewish Cemetery there.

Can see that he was a LEVI from his tombstone E.S.

The naming sequence of sons went as Abraham-Yitzhak-Yaakov
