Indra was born in Sweden but her parents are from Estonia. She was quickly interested in an artistic career and her biggest dream, as a child, was to become a dancer. She took some dancing lessons but due to a serious knee injury, she had to give up that dream. After being qualified and a quite strict life in with her family, she left Sweden and went to Paris to follow her boyfriend who wanted to become a model. She was supposed to stay a couple of Months only but she fell in love with the French capital and the nightlife and decided to settle there. She did several casual jobs before being noticed by producer Paul Taiclet while dancing in a club. He introduced her to Orlando (the brother of late superstar Dalida) who was looking for a new dance music singer. As Indra had never sung before, her first single "Let's go crazy" was a club rap track which after being released in November 1990 quickly became a huge club track and reach number 11 in the French single chart. Indra soon became the Queen of Dance Music in France and had hit after hit ("Misery", "Temptation", "Tell me", "Gimme what's real"). Her first album "Temptation", released in 1991 was certified gold in France like her second "Together tonight" (1992) and third album "Best of" (1994). Her beautiful face and body, her sexy look and the way she moved made of her one of the most sexy lady in France in the 1990s. She was very often in magazines and invited to many TV shows for her energy and good mood. She even was the special guest on Prince's French concerts in Paris Bercy in 1992. In 1995, she released her fourth album "Anywhere" on which she worked with famous dance acts DJ Bobo and Masterboy. Despite big promotion and club success, the album was not as huge as the previous ones. After the release of one more single in 1997 "Message for you" which did not sell much, she briefly gave up her singing career to become a co-host in 1998 on French new talent show "Je passe a la tele" along Georges Beller. In 1999, she was back to her day job with the release of her fifth album "You and me" which totally flopped! She also released a duet with Michael Damian in the summer 1999 "Reggae life" which did not even reach the French Top 100! Indra realized that she had lost the huge success she had in the early 1990s and as her singing contract came to an end, she decided to disappear from show business. She married to model Guy Paillet and had a son named Ollie in 2000. Despite many comeback rumors Indra had been very quiet between 2000 and 2004 and even moved from Paris to settle in Switzerland. In 2004, Orlando who always remained a good friend asked her if she wanted to release a compilation of her 90s hits. Indra agreed but only if she could release some new material as well. In late 2004, she released a duet with French singer Frederic Lerner which saw her back in the French Top 50. But her real come back single came in June 2005 when she released "Oublie-moi" which is a good mix of pop, dance and R'n'B and which sees Indra singing in French for the first time (though the chorus is in English). Indra was suddenly back in numerous TV shows and is working on her sixth album which should be out in September.
