Farm 28, bruk 25
Øvre Dølplassen
Dølplass farm is the next farm in Egnund, it lies on a small hill down from Folla, on the west side of the river. The name was written from the first as it is here, there was a valley (døle) from Gudbrandsdalen is most likely. In the oldest documents that list the farm, we see the name “Dybdal”, the name meaning a deep valley on the other side of the river.
. . .
Peder Jonsson Garmakar from Mælenget bought the farm in 1766 for 280 riksdaler. Five years later Lars Larsson in Oppistuen at Nes’byom bought it for the same price, and Oppistuen used Dølplassen for an out farm, otherwise it had a good rest as the moss took over the moor again. Lars Larsson tried to have the farm assessed, but the tax man found little value. Daughter Brynhild Larsdatter from Oppistuen got Dølplassen when she married Knut Andersson Grøntvedt from Kvikne, but she gave it to her sister Goro, she was quite young when she married Peder Taraldsson, b. at Tharaldsteen in 1749 and they and their relations were living here for a long time. Goro was born in 1756, and we know she was the mother of three children: . . . 3. Ingeborg, b. 1787, married Hans Avlesson at N. Vetlsteien.
