Irene Marie Dahlin, age 83, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, after battling a lengthy illness. At the time of her death she was residing at Bethany Good Samaritan Village.

Irene was born to Gust and Ella Carlson on March 10, 1920, in Isle, Minn. She married George Dahlin on March 23, 1946, in Minneapolis. They moved to the Brainerd area in 1955. She worked for 16 years at the Brainerd State Hospital, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and spending time with her family and many friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Rick) Anderson, Staples, and Judy Dahlin, Brainerd; two grandchildren, Tami Anderson, Vashon, Wash., and Brad (Bobbe) Anderson, Staples; a brother, Harold, Lampassas, Texas; two sisters, Gladys, Cambridge, Minn., and Eleanor, Visalia, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd with Lyle Schober and Tim Severud officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Brainerd. Visitation times are Monday, March 8, from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
