Irma Ilene Bellezza Scott 25 January 1936 ~ 23 August 2000

CHEROKEE -- Irma Ilene Scott, 64, of Cherokee, died at 7:17 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Mo. She had been in failing health for several years.

She was born Jan. 25, 1936, at Weir, to Bernard and Irma Platts Bellezza. She attended and graduated from Weir schools.

She married Kent Scott on June 1, 1974. He survives of the home.

Mrs. Scott was employed at Maude Norton Hospital as a nurse's aide for 20 years. After she left the hospital, she cared for children at her home.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Cherokee, where she was a past president.

She also was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cherokee, where she served as church secretary.

Additional survivors include two sons, Robert Joseph Scott of Archie, Mo., and David Kent Scott of Lenexa; five daughters, Mary Kathlene Elliott of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kelly Marie Scott of Wichita, Lori Lynn Selby of Cherokee, Brenda Kay Black of Mound City, and Emily Susan Sullivan of Weir; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Deborah Ilene Price; and a grandson, Jesse Lee James Price.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, Weir, with Jamie Tickel and Larry Devolt officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hosey Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Friends also may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 p.m. today and all day Friday.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 104 W. Main, Weir.
