Navy - Aerographer's Mate, Second Class, Warrant Officer: USS Bunker Hill (CV-17), Purple Heart recipient, USS Wasp (CV-18), World War II - Navy & Army. Graduated from Syracuse University in 1918. A lifelong resident of Syracuse. 71 y/o, of 303 Brookford Road, Syracuse. He was a summer resident of Cazenovia. A widely-known attorney, civic leader, and active member of the Democratic Party in Onondaga County. He was a member of the county, state, and American Bar Association. He served as: Assistant Attorney General of the State of New York, under Attorney General John J. Bennett. He was admitted to practice before the l.S. Supreme Court in 1957. Member of the Trail-Lawyers Association. Member of Mt. Sinai Masonic Lodge and, at the time of his death, was president of the Jewish Home of Central New York. Member of the board of trustees of the Temple Society of Concord, the board of directors of the Jewish Community Center, and the Cazenovia Golf Club. Surviving are a brother, Dr. William Lessen; a sister, Mrs. Samuel H. Kauffman; a niece, Dr. Fredricka K. Reisman; and a grandniece. Miss Lisa Maxine Reisman, all of Fayetteville. Funeral: July 29.
