From a card index to NY Wills, Administrations & Guardianships, it indicates that Isaac was deceased by 17 April 1805 in Hamilton, Chenango Co., New York. Apparently, in 1805 a part of Hamiltion was considered to be a part of Chenango Co. Jerusha Chauncey was listed as administratrix.
Isaac was the son of Charles Chauncey and Sarah Ingram of Western Massachusetts. He was the Great Great Grandson of Charles Chauncey, who was the 2nd President of Harvard.
On Nov. 8, 1770, Isaac married Jerusha Ward in Ashfield, Franklin Co., Massachusetts. They had the following known children: 1. Polina Chauncey Priest 1773-1859 2. Isaac Chauncney Jr. 1776-1859 3. Sabrina Chauncey Moody abt 1779-1851
Early census records indicate Isaac and Jerusha may have had as many as 2 more sons, and 2 more daughters. Isaac had dealings with a man in Onandaga Co., New York as early as 1785. But Isaac and family were listed in the 1790 Census as living in Buckland, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts. So the family probably moved to New York sometime after the 1790 census was taken.
His burial location has not yet been determined.
