Isaac Gimbel, chairman of the board of Gimbel Brothers, Inc., and an outstanding figure in retail merchandising in the country, died of bronchial pneumonia at his home, the Chieftans, just over the line from Port Chester, N.Y., in Upper King Street, Greenwich, Conn., at 10 A.M. yesterday.
