Isaac Phelps, Jr was born in 1693 in Westfield, Massachusetts to Isaac Phelps and Mary (Maudsley. Isaac and Mary christened their son Isaac on 29 January 1693 in Westfield, Province of Massachusetts Bay. [1]

Isaac married to Sarah Barber (widow of Stephen Palmer and mother of Timothy) [2] on October 5, 1729. [3] The couple resided in Westfield and had several children, including Sarah (Phelps) Mosley (b. 3 Jul 1730, m. 17 Nov 1753 Thomas Mosely, d. bef 1772, no known children), Rebecca (Phelps) Dewey (b. 12 Jul 1732, m. David Dewey, d. bef. 1772, no known children), and Isaac Phelps, III. The couple relocated to Windsor and had additional children, including Mary Phelps , Bathsheba (Phelps) Holcomb, Theodosia (Phelps) Griffin, Lucy (Phelps) Griffin.

Isaac passed away on 13 Oct 1798. [4] His will mentions five living children, namely son Issac Phelps and daughters Mary Thompson, Bathsheba Holcomb, Lucy Griffin, and Theodosia Griffin, which leads to the presumption that Sarah and Rebecca had passed away previously.

He is not the Revolutionary War here who died in 1777 in Connecticut. He would have been 84 years old at the onset of the Revolutionary War, well past the age of an active soldier.
