About Isaac Satterthwaite
Isaac Satterthwaite was born in 1794 as the son of John & Bridget Satterthwaite in Hawkshead, Lancashire. He later moved to Coniston, a nearby town, and remained there
A husbandman like his father, Isaac was farming at Out Rake in 1819 when his eldest child, Margaret, was born. Isaac later changed careers and by the birth of his youngest child, Jane, in 1826, he was a Quarryman living at Silverbank.
Isaac married twice - first to Agnes Casson in 1818, then second to Elizabeth Thompson in 1826. He had three children that the author knows of, all baptised in St Andrew, Coniston.
It is thought by the author that Isaac died some time between 1841 and 1851, as it seems as if he was still resident in Coniston in 1841, living with his wife Elizabeth and daughter Jane. It seems from his daughter Margaret's marriage record that at the time, he may have been an Innkeeper later in life.
