Ripley July 9, 1951 -

Isaac C. Staats, 78, former Ripley postmaster, died Sunday afternoon at the home of a son, Cecil L. Staats. of Ripley.

He was a native of Jackson County, and a son of the late Anderson and Mary (CASTO) Staats.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida B. (CASTO) Staats; three other sons, Harian, of Ravenswood, Howard D. and Orville Staats, both of Ripley; two daughters, Mrs. R. B. Goodwin and Miss Wanda Staats, both of Ripley; 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Ripley Evangelicl United Brethern Church of which Mr. Staats was a member. Rev. Ralph Mahoning of New Haven will officiate and burial will be in Fairplain Cemetery.

The body is at the residence. Vail Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
