Descendants of Isaac Van Giesen—Isaac, fifth child of Reynier and Dircktie
Cornelese (Van Groenland) Van Giesen, probably lived at either Bergen or
Sacaucus. He was elected to the Aseembly in 1721 and 1739, was judge of the
Bergen County Common Pleas Court, and a lieutenant colonel in the county
militia. His first wife was Cornelia Hendricks Blinkerhoff; his second,
Hillegond Claasje Kulper; his third, Anna Brevand, widow of Nicasis Kip. He
was the father of seven children by his first wife, the eldest two died in
infancy, by his second wife there was one child, Hillegondt, married
Johannes Bruin. The other children of Isaac Van Giesen and Cornelia
Hendricks Blinkerhoff were: Hendrick, Joris, Dirckje, born Aug. 15, 1699,
of whom there is no further record; Clasje, married Richard Blanch; and
Rynier.
