Thomas Pierce Jr., who was married twice, had six children by his first wife, Mary Copeland, but none by his second wife, Isabel, who survived him.

Biography

Isabel Newby was born on October 28, 1697, in Albemarle County, North Carolina. Her parents were Gabriel Newby and Mary Tomes.

Isabel married 1st to John Henley on 9 Nov 1716 at Perquimans District North Carolina in Perquimans Precinct, Albemarle County, North Carolina. Together they had the following children:

  1. John Henly;
  2. Elizabeth Henley;
  3. Mary Ricks;
  4. Miriam Henley;
  5. Jesse Henley;
  6. Joseph Henley.

Widow Isabel Henley married 2nd on 7 AUG 1729 at Pasquotank MM, Pasquotank, NC, to Benjamin Prichard. He was the son of Thomas Prichard and Barbara, and Sarah Culpeper’s widower.

Their children were

  1. Matthew b: 07 FEB 1731/1732 m 1) Rosannah Benston 2) Sarah Symons

Benjamin Prichard died 2 Oct 1739 in Pasquotank, North Carolina.

Widow Isabel Prichard married 3rd to Thomas Pierce in 1744 and survived his death in 1756 at Chowan County. She was named in his will dated Apr 1755 and proved Oct 1756: ... “Isabell "present wife" - return of her estate, labor of negro woman Judah during her widowhood, use of 1/2 of my dwelling ouse, use of my manor plantation.“

She died on August 3, 1758, perhaps at Chowan County, North Carolina.
