About Isidoro Giacomo Vincenzo Cena
ACCIDENT NO. 4.- Occurred in the 30th level, north of No. 6 shaft, Hecla Branch of the Calumet & Hecla mine, November 6th.James Cena lost his life by a falling piece of vein rock.
Cena entered the stope after a blast had been set off and all the loose rock, as far as could be seen, had been pinched down with a bar. Cena looked over the stope and the miners asked him if it was safe and all right. He answered 'yes', and called to his partners to come on and fill the car. Cena then went a little further into the stope when the rock fell, striking him on the head.
An inquest was held before Coroner Macdonald.
After hearing the evidence the jury rendered the following verdict: "We find that deceased came to his death accidentally by being struck on the head by a falling rock in the stope at the 30th level, north of No. 6 shaft, Hecla Mine, on the 6th day of November. 1895."

Calumet - Another epidemic of miner accidents seems to have set in. Miners are waiting for the third fatal accident, it being held that 3 of a kind happen close together..
The Coroner's jury, which inquired into the death of James Sena, returned a verdict exonerating all persons except the deceased, who was a boss and himself passed on the safety of the ground which a few seconds later fell away and brought about his death.

Prompt Payment of Death Loss.
Received from the Home Life Insurance Co., of New York, $1,000, less deferred premium, per Simon McDonnell, agent, in full settlement of the policy issued on the life of Isodor Cena. I extend my sincere thanks to the Home Life for their promptness by which the payment of the loses was met and to Mr. McDonnell in hastening the securement of the necessary papers, and cheerfully request all those who contemplate the taking of insurance to solicit Mr.McDonnell for a policy in the Home before any other, for indeed he who carries a policy in that honored institution leaves a home to those in the house of death.
