he came to israel (that time it was palestine a british mandate) in 1931. his family remains in canada but in 1930 lyons family together with other 2 families , bought land in gan hasharon near kfar saba' and planted oranges. israel (whose previous name was earle),deal all his life in the orange orchard .he join the mandate police in administration and continue in the israel police till he retired. he learn the arabic language perfectly , and worked also as a translator in the police.
