Israel Huddleston

Biography

Israel Huddleston was born in 1803 in Smith County, Tennessee, United States.
His parents were Abraham H. Huddleston, Sr. and Mary Ellen Huddleston (Allen).

Israel married Malinda Huddleston Goodwin (Baty) in 1826 in Wayne County, MO, United States. Together they had the following children:

1. William Sampson Huddleston;
2. Sarah Talley (Huddleston);
3. Martha Staton (Huddleston);
4. Nancy Smith Moore McDaniel (Huddleston).

He made his will July 17, 1740 and Malinda Huddleston is in the 1840 census so he died after his will but before the census. She remarried in 1841.

Note: There is a Matthew or Martha Huddleston in the 1850 census with mother Malinda. It is unimaginable that Israel would leave out a child when writing his will. Since Israel signed the will with his mark (an X), he likely said Martha or Mattie and the person writing his will wrote it as Matilda.

The Wayne Co., MO census shows Abraham aged between 50 and 60. Joseph between 30 and 40, Nathan, Charles, Israel, and John all between 20 and 30, as heads of families.
