Information from Book by Delbert Lee Penrod 1996,2000: PENROD FAMILY IN ILLINOIS

Israel Penrod was born about 1764 in Frederick Co., Maryland, married to Elizabeth about 1788 and died October 31, 1836, Bucks Twp., Tuscarawas Co., Ohio. John (his father)'s will states "my son Israel shall not be charged with any money that I gave him to pay his doctor's bill in York County and all other expense I paid for him when he got his legs and thigh broke, and also I give and bequeath to my son Israel all my blacksmiths tules that he shall not be charged with them at the division of my estate." The 1790 Bedford Co., PA, census lists Israel Penrod and two other persons. He was listed on the 1796 tax roll in Quemahoning Twp, Pennsylvania, and the somerset Township tax roll in 1800. His children as named in Elizabeth's will were Elizabeth, Mary, John, Israel, Peter, Abraham, Solomon, Joseph, David,Catherine, Jacob, Susan and Isaac.
