Putnam II was born 29 Jun 1742 Salem Village. (We refer to him as Israel II only to distinguish him in this document from his famous uncle.) He married Sarah Eppes 7 Feb 1771; five children. Her parents were Daniel and Hannah Eppes. Born about 1755, she died 8 Oct 1784, age about 29. Secondly, Israel married Emma Goodale 22 Feb 1785; no children known to us She was born about 1743. He was a farmer, said to have lived in the family house all his life. He died 23 Feb 1825 Danvers, Essex Co MA, age 82. Emma died about 1831, age about 88. Allen Putnam, born 1772, died 1793 at sea, age about 21, unmarried. Daniel Putnam, born 1774 -- below. Israel Putnam, born 1776, died 1795, age about 19, unmarried. Nathaniel, son of Joshua and Eunice (Jennisou) Richardson, tanner, formerly of Woburn but afterwards of Salem, in which latter place he was killed 25 Jan., 1796, while superintending the moving of a building. He was born in Woburn, 20 Men., 1742. Ch. : Jesse, b. , 1774, of Salem. Joshua, of Portland. Nathan iel, a merchant of Malaga, Spain. William P. of Salem. Colonel David Putnam was one of the most prominent men in Danvers for over fifty years. He was not only influ ential in town and parish affairs but was known throughout the colony as a dashing cavalry officer. Col. Timothy Pick ering was accustomed to mention among the recollections of his boyhood that "David Putnam rode the best horse in the Province."
