Israel Robertson was born about 1699 in Bristol Parish, Prince George County, Virginia. He was the son of Nicholas Robertson and Sarah Marks.

His children:

I, Israel Roberson Sr. of Granville County, North Carolina, for divers causes and the love I have for my son Charles Roberson, have granted to Charles Roberson, one tract of land of 200 acres in Lunenburg County and bounded be Rosses Branch [and] Thomas Ross. Israel [his X mark] Roberson. Wit: Nicholas Roberson, Henry [his X mark] King, George Nicholas. Recorded: September 1, 1761. [Lunenburg County, VA deed Book 7, p. 128] On August 1, 1755

In the Name of god this forth Day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand seven / hundred and fifty Eight I ISRAEL ROBBERSON Senr. of Granvill county in North Carrolinar Being of perfect / Sense and memory thanks be to [sic] given to God But colling to mind to mind [sic] the mortallity of my Body and Knowing / That it is appointed for all men to dy do makke and do ordain this my last will and Testemant / That is to say Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my Sole in to the hands of god that made / it and my Boddy I Recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a Decient manner at the Discaion of / my Exrs Not Doubting but at the General [Resurrection] I Shall Receive the Same a gain and touching Such Worldly / Estate Where with it hath pleased god to give me in this Life I give Divise Bequeathe and / Dispose of the Same in the following manner and form

IMPRIMIS I give to my Son MATHEW ROBERSON five Shillings Starling.

ITEM I give to my grandafter MARY ROBERSON Daughter of my Son MATHEW ROBERSON Twenty Shillings.

To all people to whom these presence Shall Com I Isreal Roberson Senr. / of Granvil County in North Carolina Know ye that I Israel Roberson for Divers Causes and Consideration me hereunto moving but More Especialy for / the Love Good Will and affection which I have and do bare to my son Charles / Roberson have Given Granted Alien'd Conveyed and Confirmed and by these / Presencs do fully freely and absolutely Give Grant Alien Convey and Confirm unto / him the said Charles Roberson his heirs and assigns for ever one Tract or parcel / of Land Contaning Two hundred acres Lying Lunenburg County [sic] and bounded as / followeth, To wit, Begining at a Corner white oak on Rosses Branch Thence / South forty eight Degrees East one hundred and sixty nine poles to a Corner / Hiccory in Thomas Rosses line Thence along the same South Twelve Degrees West / One hundred and twenty two poles to a border pine in the Same Line Thence along / the Same West Two hundred poles to a Hicory Thence North Twenty fore degrees / Thence East Two hundred and fifty two poles to the first station And to have and / to hold for ever the said Granted and Granted premisis with all appertenances / Priveledges and and Commodities to the saime belonging or in any ways appertaining / with all houses orchards gardens Cleared Ground Woodland ground Pastures and / pasture Ground Watter and Watter Courses and all other Liberties and priviledges / therein and thereon Containg to him the Charles Roberson [sic] his heirs and assigns / for ever to and this only propper use benefit and behoof for ever and the said Israel

"6. The evidence for 11 John, 12 Israel, and 13 Edward Roberson's connection to 1 Nicholas Robertson is circumstantial, and it is based on the references I have cited here. The connection is tentative. One might add, however, that the Marks will names John, Israel, and Edward Marks as Mathew Marks' sons and that they appear to have been the namesakes of 11 John, 12 Israel, and 13 Edward Roberson."
