Ivan Ivanovich Olifirenko

Ivan Olifirenko, born in 12.7.1856 in Chernihiv, Ukraine. Was a teacher and Court Counciller. Got an position in St. Petersburg, owned a state in Kivennapa, Pamppala, Carelia area (Part of area that belonged to Finalnd at that time) where to his family fled after the Russian revolution. Ivan died 27th June 1917 in st. Petersburg.

Later his family was moved from Carelia (Kivennampa, Pamppala) to other areas in Finland as the area was lost to Soviet Union after the wars.

A copy was issued from the Petrograd Larinsky gymnasium, according to the request of the court councilor Olifirenko, for submission to the Imperial Petrograd University, where his son Boris is a student.

• Religion: Orthodox.

Has orders:

• St. Stanislaus 2nd and 3rd degree,
• St. Anne 2nd and 3rd degree.
• Has a silver breast medal on the Alexander ribbon:
• 1) with the inscription "For diligence" (for works on public education),
• 2) in memory of the reign of Alexander III,
• 3) a light bronze medal in memory of the reign of the Romanov dynasty.

Salaries received per year:

• for the position of assistant to class teachers - 600 rubles
• as the head of the grammar school buildings - 480 rubles
• for fulfilling the duties of a teacher in a boarding house - 400 rubles
• Only 1,480 rubles and accommodation (living in an apartment at the gymnasium)

• He graduated from the course at the Kuban Teachers' Seminary and received certificate No. 17 dated June 14, 1878.
• By order of the Aleksandrovsky district school council, he was appointed to the post of people's teacher at the Novo-Nikolaevsky National School from July 1, 1878.
• He held the post of people's teacher in the Yekaterinoslav province from July 1, 1878 to June 1, 1895, about which he has a certificate No. 127 dated 06/23/1895.
• On the basis of paragraph 67 of the Charter of the gymnasium and the department of the Ministry of Education, he was appointed as a clerk (he is also an accountant) to the St. Petersburg gymnasium from June 1, 1895.
• At the suggestion of Mr. Trustee of the St. Petersburg educational district No. 12671 of 11/22/1896 - admitted to the duties of assistant class teachers in the Larinsky gymnasium with the retention of an accountant with payment of both positions on the basis of Article 61 of the Accounts Charter of the Ministry of Education (volume 8, part 2 of the Code laws, edition of 1857).
• Approved by the director of the Larinsky gymnasium as an assistant to class teachers, with the duties of an accountant on February 15, 1901.
• He was promoted to the rank of collegiate secretary on February 15, 1901 by the highest order in the civil department (No. 87 of November 18, 1905).
• At the suggestion of the Trustee No. 6051 of April 20, 1906, he was admitted to the duties of the superintendent of the gymnasium buildings from May 1, 1906.
• He was promoted to the rank of titular councilor on February 15, 1904 by the highest order for the civil department (No. 46 of June 1, 1906).
• He was promoted to the rank of collegiate assessor from February 15, 1907 by the highest order for the civil department (No. 21 dated 04/09/1907) for length of service.
• By the highest order for the civil department (No. 43 of 06/10/1911) for the length of service he was promoted to the rank of court councilor from February 15, 1911.

The wife and children of the Orthodox faith live together (with the exception of his son Sergei, who is in military service).

Olifirenko Ivan Ivanovich, son of clerk. He was born on September 12, 1856. No real estate property at himself and his parents. He graduated from Kuban Teacher Seminary on June 14, 1878 and started service in different schools. Since June 1895, he served in St. Petersburg male Larinskoye classical secondary school (Ларинская гимназия). His position there to the date of compiling service record on October 10, 1914: class tutors’ assistant, the rank – court councilor.

On June 27, 1917, Ivan Ivanovich passed away being on service.

Awards: Orders of St. Stanislaw of 2nd and 3rd ranks; St. Anne of 2nd and 3rd ranks; chest silver medals on St. Alexander ribbon: 1) with the legend “For diligence” for his labors on the popular education; 2) in Memory of the Reign of the Emperor Alexander III; and light-bronze medal in Memory of 300-years reign of the Romanoff Family.

Wife Valentina Vassilievna, daughter of archpriest Vassily Nikitin. First marriage for the both.

Sons: Boris born March 31, 1887; Sergei born December 16, 1889; Alexander born January 28, 1899. Daughter: Olga born December 31, 1892.

Wife and children of Orthodox religion, are at him (Ivan), except Sergei who is on military service.

Service record was compiled on October 10, 1914 according to petition of court councilor Ivan Ivanovich Olifirenko to be provided to the St. Petersburg University which student his son Boris is.

• In 1911-1914: #15, 6 th Line of Basil Island.
• In 1917, Olifirenko Boris Ivanovich (obviously, their son) resides on this address. Ivan Ivanovich and Valentina Vassilievna reside in other house: #26, 5 th Line.
