About Józefina "Frances" Franciszka Kłopotek
According to oral history, Julia's father died when she was about 3 years old, and her mother came to U.S. around 1881 with Julia and perhaps Franciska and Vincent Jankowski as well. Julia worked for a land baron in Poland/Germany. One other daughter may have remained in Europe. Older sister Augustina came to the U.S. in 1872, apparently traveling with Johann & Josephine Litersky (Litterski or Literski), who may have been close family friends. The Literski's came from Gostomken, Lippusch, West Prussia and lived near the Polczynski's in Milwaukee before moving to Marathon County, Wisconsin around 1877.
