About Jack Diamond
My earliest recollection of Jack Diamond was in 1926-7 when he sold my father an insurance policy. He worked for the John Hancock Life Insurance Co. Later on he was an auto salesman. In 1935 he worked for Herman Goldstein a Chrysler Plymouth Dealer in Brooklyn N.Y. and sold my father a new 1936 Plymouth.
(as told by Herb Simon to Scott Keller via email, February 2009)
- Jack brought the family to California in about 1942, following brothers Moe and Dave.
- Jack (and possibly his brothers) worked for the Sadowsky family's company in Manhattan. The Sadowsky's were large sewing contractors and were said to have been great to the brothers.
Per 1936 Social Security Number Application received from Social Security Administration:
- Born in 1895. (Conflicting birth years therefore resolved.)
- Worked at Herman Goldstein, Brooklyn, NY
- Lived at 240 Crown Street, Brooklyn, NY
